Michał Synowiec

Michał specialises in new technologies law and is specifically focused on issues related to payment services law and personal data protection law. Michał has experience in contract law and intellectual property law. In our Firm, he is involved in our Technologies – Media – Telecommunications practice and is a member of the Financial Institutions and Payment Services Law team.

He is responsible for preparing legal opinions regarding payment services law, personal data protection law, banking law and outsourcing in regulated business. Michał participates in audits of data processing compliance with the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). He participated in due diligence audits of entities operating on the financial market and in projects to adjust the activities of payment services providers to the regulatory requirements of the PSD2 Directive.

Michał has been a speaker at Polish and international scientific conferences on payment services law, personal data protection, intellectual property law, and civil law. He is the author and co-author of academic and popular-science publications on payment services law and economic law.

Michał has graduated in law and in administration from the Faculty of Law and Administration of the Jagiellonian University. He is also a graduate of the Kraków Intellectual Property Law Summer School organised by the Jagiellonian University, the Winter School on European Business Law organised by the Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg (Germany), and the School of Americal Law organised by the Columbus School of Law at the Catholic University of America in Washington. He has earned a scholarship at the Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg as well as several scholarships at the Jagiellonian University.

Currently, a trainee attorney-at-law at the Krakow Bar Association of Attorneys-at-Law and a PhD student at the Private Economic Law Department of the Jagiellonian University in Krakow.
